The Health Secretary Matthew Hancock has announced that Public Health England (PHE) is to be replaced with a new pandemic response agency, called the National Institute for Health Protection (NIHP).
Mr Hancock stated that the forming of the new public body brings together PHE and NHS Test and Trace and will be headed up by interim Executive Chair, Conservative peer Baroness Dido Harding.
